This painting by John Holland III was saved for the people of Royton by members of the Royton Local History Society in a recent auction. The painting has has some restoration work and is currently in Oldham Art Gallery. It is intended to display the painting in Royton Town Hall when it reopens this summer. The ponds shown in the painting are still there and can be seen in the Google Maps image.

This architects painting of the Roy Mill will also be coming home to Royton soon and displayed in the town hall.
